When Xiao Hui came to us close to a year before her wedding, you could  see the sparkle in her eyes as she spoke about her vision for the wedding. We knew from the start this girl was a true  romantic with a free- spirited heart! True enough, her choice of wedding gown (an off-shoulder lace with chiffon skirt) was the perfect compliment to the rustic- themed romantic solemnisation facing the South China Sea.

What was the inspiration for your wedding?

We wanted a cosy, intimate ceremony and reception, hence we kept the guest list to only people we most wanted to share the day with. Pastels usually put people at ease, so we opted for a theme of rustic elegance with tones of pastel blues, blush, whites and greens for an overall classic aesthetic.

Any memorable moments during your wedding planning?

Definitely engaging in DIY projects with my new husband and band of supportive sisters! Through crafting and laughing and getting messy together, we strengthened both our loves and friendships for each other.

How did you go about choosing your gown?

I already had a pre-conceived idea of what my gown should look like; it should flow effortlessly and not be a pain to move in, be minimalist in form but with intricate with details at the same time. Pearlyn from Amanda Lee Weddings was really helpful with gown suggestions, and I was really lucky to spot my chosen gown which ticked all the above boxes! Not many brides would be this impulsive but I signed on the dotted line on the same day I visited the boutique and never regretted my decision:)

Last but no least, any advise for brides-to-be when shopping for their bridal gown?

Definitely visit reputable bridal boutiques like Amanda Lee Weddings who have designers with eyes for detail, who also design and hand-stitch their own gowns to fit you like a glove! Also, if you can't help but repeatedly exclaim "I love this gown" during the fitting, you've found the one :)
